I missed this last week, but Minnesota Twins legend and Cabin Twelve favorite Jon Lewis Ford has returned to affiliated Major League Baseball after signing a minor league contract with the Cincinnati Reds. He was assigned to the Triple A Louisville Bats. He hasn’t done much in his 8 games so far, but it’s good to hear he found a job.
He was also named the Player of the Month for August in the Independent Atlantic League while playing for the Long Island Ducks.
Ahh, 2004. The grass was green, the flowers were in full bloom and Jon Lewis Ford was a good baseballer. He even got himself some votes for the MVP that year. And now, after a year in Japan, he’s back. With the Colorado Rockies organization. At least that’s what Baseball America’s transactions blog says (I haven’t been able to find anything else to confirm it).
